 Elementary School "Mića Stojković"- our school, city and country presentation!

Our school is situated in Belgrade municipality Grocka, in a village Umčari. it is named upon a local hero, student who died in The Second World War. School is part of the UNESCO ASP and ETwinning school. it has a long tradition of international cooperation . It has four subordinate and one main school. Students from 7 to 15 years go to school. There are many workshops and interesting activities for students.

Belgrade is wonderful city built on the river banks of two rivers- Sava and Danube. It has a long and rich history- it was once Celtic settlement, then Roman, Hungarian, Serbian, Turkish and Austrian fortress that connected important parts of great empires. Today it a city with many monuments but it does not lack modern manifestations and interesting events that bring tourists from all over the world to visit Serbia.

Serbia is a wonderful
country with rich history, tasty food , great sportsmen (Novak Đoković, Ana Ivanović), famous scientists (Nikola Tesla, Mihajlo Pupin, Milutin Milanković), world known writers( Ivo Andrić, Milorad Pavić, Miloš Crnjanski) and painters (Paja Jovanović, Olja Ivanjicki, Uroš Predić), heroic people and beautiful landscapes of mountins- Tara, Kopaonik, Šar- Mountain, Zlatibor, rivers( Morava, Sava, Danube, Drina, Ibar...), lakes (Vlasinsko, Srebrno, Perućac...) and many other nature wonders that must be seen!
